Chapter 17

JEREMY’S warm breath ghosted over Sasha’s mouth before he could protest any further, and the surge of desire racing through his veins was almost embarrassing. This was supposed to be a rehearsal but he was responding like a sex-starved newbie. Fortunately, Jeremy was having the same reaction, and he wouldn’t be able to rationalize his very obvious wood or the moan escaping past their locked lips.

“Sasha,” Jeremy sighed, breaking the kiss. Their foreheads remained pressed together and he begged, “Let me come with you to San Antonio.”

“Do you really want to?”

“You wouldn’t want me to spend Thanksgiving by myself, would you?”

Sasha shook his head and kissed his friend again, just to make sure this was really happening. He didn’t even know how they’d gone from friends to potential lovers, but everything about it felt right—unless Jeremy was simply feeling sorry for him. He pushed him back abruptly. “Is this for real or am I your latest pity fuck?”

“You’re not pitiful, angel, and this thing that’s going on between us sort of snuck up unexpectedly. I’m just as surprised as you are but why not enjoy it while we can?”

Jeremy’s kohl-smudged eyelids drooped lazily, and his lips were pink and swollen from the kissing. Sasha noticed the unmistakable outlines of his best friend’s cock, which was clearly engaged in this exercise. If this was an act, then he was most definitely a method actor and Sasha a willing participant in this erotic scene. Jem’s husky response struck all the right chords; still, Sasha didn’t want to appear too enthusiastic, in case their plans turned to shit. “A last minute ticket will cost a fortune.”

“I don’t care.”

“Wow, you must be more successful than you’re letting on.”

“I’ve got some saved up for a vacation; I may as well use it now.”

“What about clothes?”

“We’ll stop by my place on our way to the airport,” Jeremy replied. “It’ll only take me a few minutes to throw a bag together.”

Running out of objections, Sasha added the last one. “I doubt you’ll get a seat on the same flight.”

“Let’s see how this plays out, okay?”

As luck would have it, fate played right into Jeremy’s hand, and he was able to get the last seat, albeit in business class. Sasha was horrified when he heard how much the ticket cost and watched in disbelief as Jeremy nonchalantly handed over his credit card.

“Are you fucking crazy?” Sasha asked.

Jeremy smiled. “You’re worth it.”

Their good fortune continued when they stepped on the plane, and Jeremy talked the flight attendant into asking Sasha’s seatmate to trade places with him. The stranger immediately agreed; after all, who in their right mind would pass up a free upgrade? By the time the jet took off, they were side by side, and the dreamy look on Jeremy’s face was back. Sasha wanted to shake his friend and ask, why are you doing this? The entire day felt like a dream and Sasha was afraid he’d wake up and realize that he was still alone. If Jeremy only knew how truly pathetic Sasha felt sometimes, he’d run for his life.
